Seven years ago I came across for yoga the first time. Just after the first class I felt an unexpected burst of energy that I had never experienced before. After two years of hatha yoga practice at my friends’ prompting I tried ashtanga yoga. The beginning was especially difficult, my body was weak and lazy after the pregnancy and labour time. However, the feelings accompanying me after each practice – the state of euphoria, freedom and peace, the sense that everything is possible – gave me an impulse for further work. My dream was to share yoga with other people – not only the beneficial asana and the technique on the mat, but also yoga in its wider context. During classes I try to embolden shy and hesitant people, show how seemingly “unobtrusive” practice can change and strengthen a high-strung body and a lost mind. I unceasingly try to improve my knowledge. Yoga workshops with Mateusz Deker, Maria Stróżyk, Basia Lipska, Max Czenszak, David Keil and Manju Jois contributed to deepening the practice, understanding its technical and also mental aspects. In August 2015 one of my dreams came true: I met a great teacher and guru Sharath Jois on his European tour in Copenhagen. I spent February 2016 in Mysore in southern India where I practised with Sharath at the Shri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute. In June 2016 I completed Teacher Training Course with Manju Jois and Andrea Lutz in Berlin. This journey continues and I’m going with the flow…
“Yoga is for everybody, everyone has the right to get its boons” Sharath Jois
I believed in these words and I try to follow them in my yoga practice – as a student and as a teacher.
I hope you will join me on the mat.
